Refund Policy
Operator: Compos UK Ltd. A company registered in England and Wales. Contact: hello@compos.co.uk
Overview
1.1 This policy explains when you can cancel and when you are entitled to a refund. It covers four things you can pay for or use:
The free theme, the subscription (with its free trial), credits, and Pro Packs. Your statutory rights as a consumer always apply and are not affected by anything in this policy (see clause 8).
The Free Theme
2.1 The Compos theme and its free widgets are free of charge, so there is nothing to pay and nothing to refund. The theme and anything you build with it keep working whether or not you ever subscribe.
The Free Trial
3.1 The subscription may start with a 3 day free trial. You are not charged during the trial.
3.2 If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing. If you do not cancel, the subscription begins and your first payment is taken when the trial ends, as explained at sign up.
3.3 The trial is the best way to decide whether the paid services are right for you before any money is taken.
The Subscription
4.1 Cancel Anytime. You can cancel from your account at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and the paid services (Cleo, the SEO suite, and the dashboards) remain available until then.
4.2 No Part Period Refunds, Except Where The Law Requires. Because the subscription is billed for a period you have already had access to, we do not normally refund the remainder of a billing period after you cancel. We will, however, always give any refund that the law that applies to you requires.
4.3 Cooling Off (UK / EU Consumers). If you are a consumer, you may have a 14-day right to cancel a new purchase of digital services. Where you ask us to begin supplying the paid services within that period (for example, by using Cleo or any credit consuming feature), you may be asked to acknowledge that you lose that cancellation right once supply has begun, to the extent the law allows. In
practice the free trial usually lets you evaluate the service before this applies.4.4 Renewals. The subscription renews automatically. If you do not want it to renew, cancel before your next renewal date. We do not refund a renewal simply because it was not cancelled in time, except where the law requires or at our discretion (see clause 9).
Credits
5.1 Cost Shown First. Cleo shows the estimated cost of any credit consuming action (AI images, AI blog posts, and AI generated page copy) before it runs, and only proceeds with your authority or under the autonomy level you have set.
5.2 Consumed Credits Are Non Refundable. Once a credit has been spent on generation, it cannot be refunded, because the work has been carried out, except where the output failed due to a fault on our side (see clause 7).
5.3 Unused Top Up Credits. Top up credit purchases are non refundable once made, except as required by law.
5.4 Expiry. Whether allowance or purchased credits expire is set out in the terms of service (clause 6.3). Expired credits are not refundable.
Pro Packs
6.1 Pro Packs (Pro Widgets and EC Pro) are one off purchases, licensed per site and perpetual. Once purchased, a Pro Pack is yours and is not revoked, including if you later cancel your subscription.
6.2 Cooling Off (UK / EU Consumers). You may have a 14 day right to cancel a Pro Pack purchase. Because a Pro Pack is digital content, that right can be lost once you begin downloading or using it and acknowledge that loss at checkout, to the extent the law allows. If you have not started using a Pro Pack, contact us within 14 days and we will refund it.
6.3 Faulty Or Not As Described. If a Pro Pack is faulty or materially not as described, you are entitled to a remedy under consumer law (see clauses 7 and 8), which may include a repair, replacement, or refund.
If Something Is Not As Described
If a paid feature is faulty, materially fails to work as described, or is not provided with reasonable care and skill, contact us at hello@compos.co.uk. We will investigate and provide an appropriate remedy, which may include fixing the problem, restoring affected credits, or issuing a refund, depending on the circumstances and what the law requires.
Your Statutory Rights
8.1 Nothing in this policy removes or reduces the rights you have under the law that applies to you as a consumer, including, under UK law, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
8.2 If you are a consumer outside the UK, the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live apply and override any conflicting term in this policy.
Goodwill Refunds
Even where we are not obliged to, we may offer a refund or credit at our discretion. For example, if you were charged in error or had a genuinely poor experience. Asking does not affect your statutory rights.
How To Request A Refund
10.1 Email hello@compos.co.uk from the address on your account, with your account name, what you are asking to be refunded, and the reason.
10.2 We aim to acknowledge requests within 3 business days and to decide within 14 days.
How Refunds Are Paid
11.1 Approved refunds are made to the original payment method, unless that is no longer possible, in which case we will agree an alternative with you.
11.2 Refunds are usually processed within 5 - 10 business days of approval, though the time for funds to appear depends on your bank or card provider.
11.3 Refunds are made in the currency of the original payment. We are not responsible for exchange rate differences or fees charged by your payment provider.
Chargebacks
If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us first. We can usually resolve it faster than a chargeback. Raising a chargeback without contacting us may lead to suspension of the paid services while the dispute is investigated.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version that applies to a purchase is the one in effect when you made it. Material changes will be notified as set out in the terms of service.
